Six coaching centres running defying government’s ban during the month of Secondary School Certificate (SSC) examinations were sealed today.
A mobile court of Rapid Action Battalion (Rab) carried out the raid and awarded a month jail to eight persons involved in the defiance of the ban.
Executive magistrate of Rab-2 Sarwar Alam sealed off Nabadiganta Academy, Joy Jatra, Onanya and Blaze coaching centres during a drive today. In Farmgate, the team sealed Moy Dick coaching centre.
Owners of the coaching centres were running business by hanging a “closed” sign on the main gates, according to Executive Magistrate Sarwar Alam.
“Many students complained that the teachers don’t take proper care in schools. I will report this to the ministry,” Sarwar Alam told The Daily Star.
