Police rescued an abducted college student from Birampur-Kalitala area in Jessore Sadar upazila on Wednesday night.
They also arrested two abductors from there. They are Raja Hossain, 25, son of Mohammad Ali of new town area, and Fazar ALi, 26, son of Bablu Mia of Kismat Noapara area in the town.
The victim, Abu Syed, is a student of Jessore MM College, and son of Khalilur Rahman of Rajapur village in Jhikargachha upazila of the district.
Syed was picked up by the two while he was going to Daratana area of the town at around 9:30am. They later demanded Tk 2 lakh ransom from his family over mobile phone.
The victim’s father filed a case with Jessore Kotwali Police Station in this connection.
Acting on a tip-off, police raided Birampur–Kalitala area at around 9:00pm, rescued Syed and arrested the two abductors.
