The Anti-Corruption Commission on Sunday conducted a drive in a school in Hazaribagh of Dhaka for charging extra money for the registration of Secondary School Certificate examination.
The sudden drive was conducted at Saleha High School and College on receiving allegations that the school was charging more than the amount set by government for the registration.‘It is completely immoral to charge extra to fill-up the SSC form. The commission is set to conduct regular drives to stop such malpractices,’ said the ACC director general (prevention) Sarwar Mahmud.
During the drive, an ACC team found the school authorities had charged students Tk 4,000 instead of Tk 1,500 fixed by the government to register for SSC examination of 2019, the ACC deputy director (public relations) of Pranab Kumar Bhattcharjee.
School headmaster Nazrul Islam assured that the school authorities would no longer charge students extra for the registration.
