Police on Wednesday (April 12) detained a convener of Bangladesh Chhatra League (BCL), student wing of Awami League, as a prime suspect in a case filed over killing a student of City University in Savar.
The detainee is identified as Shaon Khan, 27, resided from Gopalganj, a joint convener of BCL Ashulia union unit.
Police detained him from his home in Kathgora Durgapur area of Ashulia.
Earlier on Monday (April 10), Shaon Khan shot Sifat to death in front of City University in Savar’s Birulia over a girl-related dispute while several others were injured.
Later, the deputy registrar of City University Mohammad Farukh Hossain filed a case with Savar model thana. Six people were arrested so far in the case.
Birulia police outpost in-charge Tariqul Islam said Shaon will be produced before court on Wednesday where police will plea for his remand.
