A 13-day long book fair on the occasion of International Mother Language Day-2016 will begin at Muslim Institute Hall and its surrounding areas from February 17.
Chittagong City Corporation (CCC) on the occasion of immortal Ekhushey will also accord Ekhushey Memorial Award to seven distinguished individuals including a journalist on the day.
The recipients are- A Z M Omar in Journalism, (posthumous), Prof Rowshan Akther Hanif in Education, Engineer Mahmudul Islam in sports, Fazal Karim in Social Service, Seru Bangali in research, Arun Chandra Bonik in Culture and Mohammad Zakaria in education.
CCC Mayor AZM Nasir Uddin disclosed this in a press conference while reading out a written statement, held at Abdus Sattar Auditorium of CCC this afternoon.
