Experts see Bangladesh as next outsourcing destination

As Bangladesh has a huge number of young population, the country is the next outsourcing destination, if it creates efficient workforce on online outsourcing, officials and IT experts told a function here on Monday, reports BSS.

Bangladesh has already been recognized as one of the leading outsourcing destinations by various world renowned IT organizations and it should take necessary initiatives to turn the large number of young population into skilled manpower on online outsourcing, they told the function at upazila parishad auditorium of Keraniganj.

The function was held on the occasion of launching the third batch of online outsourcing training and distributing certificates to the freelancers on spoken English course.

Deputy Commissioner of Dhaka Md Tofazzel Hossain Miah, CEO of FM English Language Teaching and Research Institute Prof Mohammad Feroz Mukul, Director of Information and Communication Technology (ICT) of TMSS Nigar Sultana, Upazila Nirbahi Officer Abul Bashar Md Fakhruzzaman and Chairman of Keraniganj Upazila Parishad Shahin Ahmed, among others, addressed the function.

With assistance of Thengamara Mohila Sabuj Sangha (TMSS), a non-government organization, Dhaka district administration has taken the encouraging initiative under Local Government Supporting Program (LGSP) to impart online outsourcing trainings to the unemployed youth, particularly the womenfolk.

Tofazzael Hossain said for the first time, Dhaka district administration and TMSS are jointly arranging the training program to supplement the efforts to develop efficient freelancers for ensuring their better access to global online outsourcing market.

The training programs have already been arranged in different upazilas including Keraniganj, Savar, Dhamrai and Nawabganj and the whole district will be covered soon, he added.

“You (trainees) are really fortunate…. For the first time, we are introducing such training programme on outsourcing. I hope this initiative will be model for other districts of the country,” the deputy commissioner added.

Prof Feroz Mukul said, “Our earnings from overseas job market could increase many times higher than the current incomes, if our young generation can acquire good communication skills in English.”

In order to supplement the endeavors to create skilled workforce on online outsourcing with good English language knowledge, FM Method joined the training program to teach the trainees on English, he added.

Nigar Sultana said, “Five lakh new jobs will be created in the online outsourcing markets… We should capture the online job markets by developing our young population with ICT knowledge,” she added.

TMSS wants to work with the government to develop highly skilled online freelancers to do better in global outsourcing markets, she said adding, “Taking this into consideration, we are working with Dhaka district administration for introducing one-month outsourcing training for educated young people.”

Bangladesh has been ranked as the best destination for IT Outsourcing by the AT Kearney’s Top 50 global locations index.
