Govt working for creating ICT-skilled human resources: Palak

Zunaid Ahmed PalakState Minister for ICT Division Zunaid Ahmed Palak, MP, has said the present government has been working sincerely for producing skilled human resources on Information and Communication Technology (ICT).

“Bangladesh has been advancing successfully in the field of technologies in various ways to achieve huge successes and recognition to the successes, the country is going to hold the World Congress of Information Technology in 2021,” he said.

He was addressing a prize-distribution ceremony of the Regional Programming and Quiz Competitions arranged under auspices of the National High School Programming Competition- 2016 on Begum Rokeya University, Rangpur (BRUR) campus here today as the chief guest.

The State Minister urged the young generations to go ahead in the field of ICT-based technologies to help build the digital Bangladesh.

“Like Bengali, English, Mathematics and other subjects, importance should be given on learning ICT-based modern technologies along with nurturing of technologies for newer innovations and achievements by the young generations,” he said.

Citing tremendous successes achieved by the present government in different fields, he said, the present government has also been distributing books free of cost, computers and laptops among the schools for developing the technological sector.

“The process of building digital class rooms in educational institutions is progressing,” Palak said adding that digital Bangladesh is now a reality in the process of building a middle income Bangladesh by 2041 and developed nation by 2041.

Vice-chancellor of Begum Rokeya University Professor Dr AKM Nurun Nabi presided over the function participated by over by several hundred of high school and college level students from all over Rangpur division.

Rangpur Divisional Commissioner Kazi Hassan Ahmed, Dean of the Faculty of Engineering & Technology Professor Dr Tazul Islam and General Secretary of Rangpur city Awami League Tushar Kanti Mandal addressed as the special guests.

The Department of Computer Science & Engineering of Begum Rokeya University organised the regional Programming and Quiz Competitions- 2016 on the campus from 9 am in the morning.

Later, the chief guest distributed prizes among winners of competitions.
