Help flourishing education sector by constructive criticism: Nahid

Expecting objective and impartial news from media men, Education Minister Nurul Islam Nahid on Sunday urged reporters working on education beat to criticize their works in a constructive way as to help education sector flourishing.

“We never feel unhappy if any objective news goes against us as criticism can make scopes for correction,” Nahid said while addressing a meeting with the newly elected committee of Education Reporters Association Bangladesh (ERAB) at International Mother Language Institute Auditorium in the city’s Shegunbagicha area.

“The ruling government has been giving importance to adorn education based on Information and Communication Technology (ICT) for creating a meaningful education system,” the minister said.

“Special attention has been given to vocational and efficiency based education with a view to implementing SDGs in education,” he further said.

During the meeting, ERAB President Siddiqur Rahman presiding, University Grant Commission (UGC) Chairman Prof Abdul Mannan, Secondary and Higher Secondary Education Board Secretary Md Sohrab Hossain and Director General Prof Md Mahbubur Rahman, Vocational and Madrasa Education Board Secretary Md Alamgir, among others, were present. A cultural program was held at the inauguration ceremony.
