International Seminar on Computational Chemistry held at DU

DU karzon HallA day-long international seminar on “Computational Chemistry and Sustainable Development in Bangladesh” organized by Faculty of Science of Dhaka University (DU) held at the conference room of the faculty.

Dhaka University Vice-Chancellor Prof. Dr. AAMS Arefin Siddique inaugurated the seminar as the chief guest, a DU press release said today.

Dean of the Faculty of Science of DU Prof Dr Mohammed Abdul Aziz presided over the function while Professor of Griffith University of Australia Dr.Moazzem Hossain and Professor of the University of Bremen of Germany Dr. Bibhuti Roy addressed it as special guests.

Professor of the University of Pierre & Marie Curie of France Dr. Boubakar Diawara delivered the key-note speech.

DU Vice-Chancellor Prof Arefin Siddique in his speech said computational chemistry has emerged with the emergence of digital age. It describes the computational techniques aimed at understanding the structure and properties of molecules and materials.

Prof Arefin informed that the university authorities are planning to set-up an independent teaching and research department on Computational Chemistry.
