The authorities of Islamic University in Kushtia have agreed to join unified admission test to reduce hassles of the admission seekers and their guardians, IU registrar office officials said on Tuesday.

The decision was made at 116th academic council meeting of the university with the university’s vice-chancellor Professor M Harun-Ur-Rashid Askari in the chair.

Among others, IU pro-vice-chancellor Professor M Shahinoor Rahman, treasurer Professor M Selim Toha, acting registrar SM Abdul Latif, chairmen of and professors of different department were present at the meeting.

They accepted this recommendation by responding to the country’s president and universities chancellor M Abdul Hamid, IU vice-chancellor Rashid Askari said.

Students and parents of the country have to face severe harassment and suffering during the admission test. Considering this, they made a unanimous recommendation for the integrated admission test, he added.

In the cluster system, students' admission would be controlled centrally, and the universities and their teachers would have no involvement in the admission tests.
