The sexual harassment prevention cell at Islamic University in Kushtia would investigate into the indecent telephone conversation of tourism and hospitality management department chairman Professor M Mahbubul Arefin.
A female student submitted a written complaint to the university authorities seeking action against the teacher as he harassed her.
Two audio clips containing ‘indecent discussion’ between the professor and a female student went viral on facebook on June 28.
Taking the issue in cognizance, the university vice-chancellor M Harun-Ur-Rashid Askari asked the sexual harassment prevention cell led by Professor Nasim Banu to investigate into the incident, IU acting registrar SM Abdul Latif said.
The cell was asked to submit the reports as early as possible, he added.
