IUJA condemns attack on DU journalists

Islamic University Journalists Association (IUJA) has condemned the attack on three journalists of Dhaka University.

A press release signed by IUJA president Abdullah Al-Faruk and its general secretary M Emran Shuvro was issued in this regard on Monday morning.

In the statement, IUJA demanded immediate punishment of the attackers who beat the journalists indiscriminately.

Such kind of crimes will happen repeatedly if the culprits are not brought to book, the release added.

Earlier on Saturday night, a group of Bangladesh Chhatra League activists of Bangladesh University of Engineering and Technology (BUET) unit carried out an attacked on Mehedi Hasan of Kaler Kantho, Kabir Kanon of Daily Ittefaq and Muntasir Zihad of Dainik Janakantha.

The journalists came under the attack when they went to Sher-e-Bangla Hall after being informed that a student of Pharmacy department of DU was picked up and being confined at the dorm by some BUET students.
