The Commonwealth Secretariat has elected Education Minister Nurul Islam Nahid as an Asian representative of board of governance of the Commonwealth of Learning (COL) for three years, said a press release yesterday (12th April).
Commonwealth Secretary-General Patricia Scotland notified the matter to the minister through an official paper. The board sits every year in a meeting in Vancouver, Canada, said the release sent by the education ministry.
COL is an intergovernmental organisation established by the Commonwealth Heads of Government in 1988 to encourage the development and sharing of open learning and distance education knowledge, resources and technologies.
