PM gives 5 buses to Ramiz Uddin Cantonment College

Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina today presented five buses to Shaheed Bir Bikram Ramiz Uddin Cantonment College here.

On behalf of the premier, Bangladesh Road Transport Corporation (BRTC)
Chairman Farid Ahmed Bhuiyan handed over the buses to the college authorities at a simple function this morning.

Chief Patron of Cantonment Public and Board Schools and Colleges of Dhaka
Region and Logistics Area Commander Major General Ataul Hakim Sarwar Hasan received the keys of the buses.

The buses included one double-deck, three single-deck and one 30-seated mini bus.

Principal of the college Nur Nahar Yasmin, other teachers and students of the college were present on the occasion.

They expressed gratitude to the prime minister for presenting the five buses to the college.

Dia Khanam Mim and Abdul Karim Rajib, two students of Shaheed Ramiz Uddin Cantonment College, were killed as a Jabal-e-Noor bus ploughed through a crowd while competing with another bus of the same company on the Airport Road on July 29 last.

Dia and Rajib’s family members called on the prime minister at her office on Thursday.

The premier consoled the bereaved family members and donated savings certificates of Tk 20 lakh to each of the families.
