Rajshahi University has signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) with Chinese Huajong University on five issues of mutual interests.
RU Vice-chancellor Prof Abdus Sobhan revealed this information at a press conference at RU Senate Building today.
Prof Abdus Sobhan of RU and Vice-president Prof Jeang Deng of Chinese Huajong University signed the MOU on behalf of their respective sides, focusing on quality improvement in bioscience related education and research.
The undersigned contracts are: establishment of Biotechnology Institute at RU, creating study scopes for students of the two universities, research on biology, horticulture, fruit preservation, aquaculture, post-harvest processing and agriculture economics and holding seminars and conferences on environment and agriculture development.
RU Pro-VCs Prof Ananda Kumar Shaha and Prof Chowdhury Jakaria, Proctor Prof Lutfor Rahman Khan, Students Adviser Prof Laila Arjuband Banu and Director of Institute of Biological Sciences Prof Monjur Hossain, among others, attended the press conference.
