A group of Noakhali Science and Technology University (NSTU) students on Thursday besieged the office of the university Vice Chancellor, to press home their nine-point demand.
The agitated students lock the VC office around 10:00am. He was confined to the office when the report was filed.
The students also lock administration and academic buildings, and main gate of the university.
Their nine point demands include permanent solution to residential crisis, and 24-hour medical treatment.
Protesting students said they have long been drawing attention of authorities to the prevailing problem of the university but they denied.
At last, they have been forced to stage movement with the nine-point demand in banner of general students, they added.

Meanwhile, Mohammad Mushfiqur Rahman, proctor of the university said a discussion meeting on the nine-point demand was set to be held in the morning, but the students locked VC's office before the scheduled meeting.
