Textbook festival held in Khulna

As part of the countrywide programme, Khulna divisional level textbook festival-2016 was held today at Khulna Zila School Ground with much enthusiasm.

Lawmaker of Khulna-2 constituency Md. Mizanur Rahman Mizan inaugurated the ceremony as the chief guest by releasing baloons.

Directorate of Secondary and Higher Education in Khulna region (DSHE) organized a discussion on the occasion with deputy director of DSHE TM Zakir Hossain in the chair.

Administrator of Khulna District Council Sheikh Harun-ur-Rashid, Additional divisional commissioner Md. Faruk Hossain and Khulna deputy commissioner Mostofa Kamal addressed the meeting as special guests.

Chief guest Mizanur Rahman Mizan, MP, said it is a great achievment for the present government to hand over around 34 crore text books to the primary, secondary and madrasa students on January 1 on the occasion of the happy new year.

Terming Bangladesh’s achievement as tremendous in different sectors including education, the chief guest said there is no alternative to develop the nation without education.

He said quality of education has improved during the present government and added that Bangladesh will turn into a hunger and poverty free prosperous and developed country by 2021.

A total of 2, 45, 59,677 textbooks was distributed today among 19, 89,082 primary, secondary, ebtedayi dakhil and SSC (Vocational) students in Khulna region today.

Students, Guardians, political leaders, journalists, among others, attended the textbook distribution festival.
