An evening with Saikat’s Family

Read the following passage
Saikat lives with his parents in an apartment in Bogra. His father, Mr. Islam, is a banker. In his free time, Mr. Islam writes stories. He loves listening to music of old times, too. Saikat’s mother, Maleka Begum is a housewife. She loves sewing in her free time. She makes dress. She often gets orders from her friends and neighbors. Saikat reads in class five. He is a good student. He wants to improve his English. So he watches cartoons on TV and reads English story books every day.

(a) Saikat lives with his parents in Bogra. Make similar sentences with ‘My Father’ ‘My Uncle’ Farid, Zakir.

Note: All the sentences of (a) group the verb is ‘lives’ that means an extra ‘s’ is added. But it did not happen with the sentences of (b) group and (c) group.

Last winter Tanin’s school had a holiday. Mr. Masud, his uncle, took him and some of his friends to the zoo at Mirpur in Dhaka. They went there by bus. They saw many big and small animals. They saw lions and tigers. They also saw giraffes, rhinos, deer, snakes, bears, camels and crocodiles. 

They were sacred to see some of the animals. But most of the animals were in cages. They saw the Royal Bengal Tiger of Bangladesh. It was big and beautiful. It was walking from this side to that side in the cage. Sometimes it stopped and looked at them.

Tanins’ uncle told them not to go near the cages. Some of the animals might hurt. They saw an ape. It jumped from bar to bar in the cage. Then it came and stood in front of them. Tannin gave it some nuts. They saw birds chirping in the cages. They were making a lot of noise. Some of them had very bright and colorful feathers and long beaks. They saw the fish swim in the water in tanks. They also saw some big elephant and some baby elephants.

Use the given cues: last week- accompanied by –snakes –monkeys—other animals –the Royal Bengal Tigers—lions—chirping of birds—peahen’s dance-enjoyment.
