The students of Islamic University (IU) in Kushtia brought out an anti-ragging procession on the campus on Wednesday, demanding to stop ragging incidents on the campus.

Over five hundred students under the banner of IU Conscious Students brought out the procession from in front of Applied Science and Technology Faculty around 11:00am.

IU syndicate member Professor M Mahbubar Rahman, IUTA president Professor M Kamal Uddin, its secretary Professor M Alamgir Hossain Bhuiya, IIER director Professor M Maher Ali, IU Student Advisor Professor Paresh Chandra Barman, Acting Proctor Anisur Rahman, Islamic History and Culture department chairman Professor Anowar Hossain and Tourism and Hospitality Management department chairman Professor Mahbubul Arefin were, among others, joined the procession.

The procession ended in front of Beershrestha Hamidur Rahman Auditorium after parading main roads of the campus. Later, a discussion programme was held at the auditorium.

Speaking at the discussion, the IU Student Advisor and acting Proctor assured the students to take necessary action in this regard if they were informed about the incident.
