Bangabandhu’s 3rd book to hit next book fair

Desk Report |

The third book authored by Father of the Nation Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman will be published in the next Amar Ekushey book fair.

Bangla Academy is publishing the travelogue book titled “Naya Chin Bhromon” (A journey to the new China). English version of the book will also be published.

Professor of Dhaka University English Department Fakhrul Alam is translating the book. Alam also translated Bangabandhu’s two autobiographical books.

“Initially, 20,000 copies of the book will be printed in the first phase. Readers can collect the book from the inaugural day of the next book fair,” Bangla Academy Director General Shamsuzzaman Khan told BSS.

He said “Naya Chin Bhromon” is based on Bangabandhu’s diary which was written during his journey to China.

Khan said Bangabandhu’s daughter and Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina will write the preface of the book. Bangabandhu Memorial Trust will hold the copyright, he added.

He hoped the cover unveiling ceremony of the book will be held at the inaugural day of the Amar Ekushey Granthamela.

Bangabandhu’s first autobiographical book “Asamapto Atmajiboni” was published by the University Press Limited while his second autobiographical book ‘Karagarer Rojnamcha” was published by Bangla Academy.
