JS body for independent PSC for recruiting primary school teachers

The Parliamentary Standing Committee on Primary and Mass Education Ministry recommended creating an independent public service commission on 11th October (PSC) for employing teachers for primary schools.

The recommendation made at the 39th meeting of the committee at Jatiya Sangsad (JS) Bhaban here with its Chairman Md Motahar Hossain in the chair, said an official release.

Committee members Primary and Mass Education Minister Mostafizur Rahman, AKM Jahangir Hossain, Shamsul Haque Chowdhury, Md Nazrul Islam Babu, Md Abul Kalam, Ali Azam and Begum Umme Razia Kazal were present in the meeting.

The meeting held discussions on the progress of book publication activities of primary school by NCTB for 2018 and the activities of mass literacy programme.

The committee also suggested creating posts for teachers as the ratio of teachers and students will be 1:40 by next January, the release said.

Secretary of the Primary and Mass Education Ministry and senior officials of the Jatiya Sangsad were present in the meeting.
