A college student died at Bogra Medical College yesterday, after being stabbed by miscreants for “stopping an early marriage”.
Locals said when Jaharul Islam, 25, a student of Gobindaganj Degree College, was returning home on Tuesday, a group of miscreants stabbed him.
Locals admittted him to Gobindaganj Health Complex and later shifted him to Bogra Medical College Hospital where he died yesterday.
Babu Mia, elder brother of the victim, alleged that Jaharul was killed by some hired goons as he recently stopped an early marriage in the village.
Being informed, police visited the spot, but none was arrested in this connection. Now, a tense situation is prevailing at the village over the incident, said locals.
