A madrasa girl was raped allegedly by four youths in Sadar upazila on Wednesday night.

Police rescued the victim in a critical condition from a house in Hogol Dahri area of Bashikpur union parishad in the upazila early Thursday.

Police also conducted drives in the morning at different areas of the upazila and arrested three youths-Jahir Hossain, Mamun Hossain and Kala Mia-in this connection.

Later in the afternoon, the victim filed a case with sadar police station against four youths-Jahir Hossain, Mamun Hossain, Kala Mia and Anwar Hossain-under the Prevention of Repression on Women and Children Act 2000.

According to the victim, she was returning to her home in Dattapara union parishad from her sister’s house in Rakimpur by a CNG-run auto-rickshaw on Wednesday afternoon when the four miscreants stopped the vehicle and forcefully picked her up.

They confined the victim to a house in Hogol Dohri area of Bashikpur union parishad and raped her one by one.

On information, a team of sadar police station conducted a drive at the house and rescued the victim.

Superintendent of Lakshmipur police Mahtab Uddin said police have already arrested three of the alleged rapists.

The drive is still on to arrest the remaining rapist, he added.
