Bangladesh cricket skipper Mashrafee bin Murtaza and Bangladesh Test and Twenty20 skipper Sakib al Hasan are going to collect the ruling Awami League’s nomination papers for the upcoming 11th parliamentary polls on Sunday.
The cricketers phoned AL general secretary and road transport and bridges minister Obaidul Quader at 11:45am on Saturday and informed him of their desire.
Road transport and highways division senior information officer Md Abu Naser told New Age quoting the minister that the cricketers will go to AL president’s office in Dhanmondi at 10:30am on Sunday to collect nomination papers. The ruling party on Friday started selling party’s nomination papers.
On May 29 this year planning minister AHM Mustafa Kamal informed that Mashrafee and Sakib would contest in the upcoming national elections.
