Four Bangladeshi leading private universities have signed separate Memoranda of Understanding (MoUs) with Pir Mehr Ali Shah Arid Agriculture University Rawalpindi. The Bangladeshi Universities are--- University of Asia Pacific, Daffodil International University, International Islamic University Chittagong, and North South University, said the DAWN, a leading newspaper of Pakistan.
According to the report, the MoUs aim to promote academic cooperation and foster international partnerships across higher education institutions. These MoUs establish a framework for collaboration in a wide range of areas, including student and faculty exchange programmes, joint research initiatives, shared educational and scientific programmes, and mobility opportunities for faculty members and researchers.
The signing ceremony was held at Comstech Secretariat, Islamabad under the patronage and support extended by OIC-Comstech , being a member of the Comstech Consortium of Excellence (CCOE).
Arid university Vice Chancellor Prof Dr Qamaruz Zaman, University of Asia Pacific Vice Chancellor Prof Dr Qamrul Ahsan, Daffodil International University Vice Chancellor Prof Dr MD Lutfar Rahman, International Islamic University Chittagong Vice Chancellor Prof. Dr. Muhammad Ali Azadi and North South University Vice Chancellor Prof Dr Abdul Hannan Choudhury, signed MoUs on behalf of their respective Organisations while Prof. Dr. Muhammad Iqbal Choudhary, Coordinator General OIC-Comstech witnessed the occasion who played a pivotal role for this collaboration.
Speaking on the occasion, Prof Dr Qamaruz Zaman emphasized the importance of international academic linkages in advancing higher education.
He said that this collaboration marks a significant step in promoting academic excellence and fostering cross-border educational exchange.
“We believe such partnerships are key to addressing shared challenges and enhancing global academic standards,” he added.
The Vice Chancellors from the Bangladeshi universities expressed their appreciation and enthusiasm for the collaboration, noting the mutual benefits it will bring to students, faculty, and research communities in both countries. They reaffirmed their commitment to working closely with the Arid university to implement the MoUs and ensure tangible outcomes.
