SSC pass rate sharply declines to 68.45pc

Last year, the pass rate was 83.04%. This year, 1,39,032 students achieved GPA-5, compared to 1,82,129 last year—indicating a decrease of 43,097 in the number of GPA-5 achievers.

This year, a total of 13,03,426 students have passed the SSC and equivalent examinations. Out of 19,28,181 examinees, the average pass rate stands at 68.45%.

Last year, the pass rate was 83.04%. This year, 1,39,032 students achieved GPA-5, compared to 1,82,129 last year—indicating a decrease of 43,097 in the number of GPA-5 achievers.

A total of 19,28,181 students from 30,088 educational institutions took part in the exams across 3,714 centers.

The results were officially published on Thursday at 2:00 PM, simultaneously by all education boards.

In this year’s SSC examinations under the country’s nine general education boards, the highest pass rate was recorded by the Rajshahi Board, with a success rate of 77.63 percent. On the other hand, the lowest pass rate was in the Barisal Board, which stood at 56.38 percent. The average pass rate across the nine general education boards was 68.04 %.

Besides, in this year’s Dakhil examinations, 195,115 students passed out of a total of 294,726 examinees. The pass rate in Dakhil stood at 68.09%. Last year, the pass rate was 79.66 %. This year, a total of 9,066 students obtained GPA-5 in Dakhil, while last year the number was 14,206. Both the pass rate and the number of GPA-5 achievers have declined in the Dakhil examinations this year.

This year, the pass rate of SSC and Dakhil Vocational examinations is 73.63 %. A total of 143,313 students took part in the exams. Last year, the pass rate was 81.38 %. This year, 4,948 students obtained GPA-5.

Last year, 4,078 students achieved GPA-5. This year, while the pass rate in the SSC and Dakhil Vocational examinations has decreased, the number of GPA-5 achievers has increased.

In the Dhaka Board, 67.51 % of students passed this year. Around 37,068 students achieved GPA-5 in this board. Last year, the pass rate in the Dhaka Board was 83.92 %, and 49,290 students obtained GPA-5. Both the pass rate and the number of GPA-5 achievers have decreased in the Dhaka Board this year.

In the Cumilla Board, 63.60 percent of students passed this year. A total of 9,902 students obtained GPA-5. Last year, the pass rate was 79.23 %, and 12,100 students achieved GPA-5. Both the pass rate and the number of GPA-5 achievers have decreased in the Cumilla Board this year.

In the Chattogram Board, 72.07 % of students passed this year. A total of 11,843 students obtained GPA-5. Last year, the pass rate was 82.80 %, and 10,824 students achieved GPA-5. While the pass rate has decreased in the Chattogram Board, the number of GPA-5 achievers has increased.

In the Dinajpur Board, 67.03 percent of students passed this year. A total of 15,062 students achieved GPA-5. Last year, the pass rate was 78.43 %, and 18,105 students obtained GPA-5. Both the pass rate and the number of GPA-5 achievers have decreased in the Dinajpur Board.

In the Barisal Board, 67.03 % of students passed this year. A total of 3,114 students obtained GPA-5. Last year, the pass rate was 89.13 %, and 6,145 students achieved GPA-5. Both the pass rate and the number of GPA-5 achievers have decreased in the Barisal Board.

In the Mymensingh Board, 58.22 percent of students passed this year. A total of 6,678 students achieved GPA-5. Last year, the pass rate was 84.97 %, and 13,175 students obtained GPA-5. Both the pass rate and the number of GPA-5 achievers have decreased in the Mymensingh Board.

In the Jashore Board, 73.69 percent of students passed this year. A total of 15,410 students achieved GPA-5. Last year, the pass rate was 92.33 % , and 20,762 students obtained GPA-5. Both the pass rate and the number of GPA-5 achievers have decreased in the Jashore Board.

In the Rajshahi Board, 77.63 percent of students passed this year. A total of 22,327 students obtained GPA-5. Last year, the pass rate was 89.25 %, and 28,074 students achieved GPA-5. Both the pass rate and the number of GPA-5 achievers have decreased in the Rajshahi Board.

In the Sylhet Board, 68.57 percent of students passed this year. A total of 3,614 students achieved GPA-5. Last year, the pass rate was 73.04 %, and 5,471 students obtained GPA-5. Both the pass rate and the number of GPA-5 achievers have decreased in the Sylhet Board.
