Nationalized Primary School Teachers on Sunday made three-point demands including the withdrawal of the Finance Ministry’s circular regarding the time scale and the provision of seniority based on 50 percent of their service period.
On Sunday, teachers made the three-point demand at a grand rally organized by the Primary Teachers' Association at the Central Shaheed Minar in Dhaka.
The rally was presided over by Md. Aminul Islam Chowdhury, President of the Primary Teachers' Association. Several hundred teachers participated in the rally.
In the rally, the leaders of the platform also demanded that before nationalization, the government should appoint head teachers who were already appointed by school managing committee head teachers but not included in the official gazette.
The leaders of the association said when the aggrieved teachers were compelled to file a writ petition against the letter issued by the Finance Ministry, the court declared the letter improper. They demanded that the letter must be revoked by today.
