RU to confer D. Lit degree to Selina, Prof Haque

Rajshahi University (RU) is going to confer D. Lit degree to famous writer Selina Hossain and Professor Hassan

Azizul Haque as recognition to their laudable contribution to Bangla literary field, RU sources here said. RU will confer the prestigious degree to the two legendary persons to mark of its 10th convocation function scheduled to be held on (29 September) Saturday at the campus.

Professor Ananda Kumar Shaha, Pro-Vice-Chancellor of the university, told journalists that both of them were the students of RU. As recognition to their laudable contribution, RU has taken decision of conferring D. Lit Degree to them.

Prof Haque obtained post-graduation degree from Department of Philosophy in 1960 and joined the same department as a teacher in 1973. He achieved Ekushey Medal in 1999. Famous writer Selina Hossain obtained graduation and post-graduation degrees from Department of Bangla in 1967 and 1968 respectively. She also gained a number of national awards.

The tenth convocation of RU will be held at its stadium at 2.30 pm on September 29. Chancellor of RU and the President M Abdul Hamid is likely to chair the convocation, RU sources added. A total of 6,009 graduates registered their names to take part in the convocation.
