Education Reporters Association of Bangladesh, a guild of journalists working for education beat in different media outlets, was formed on July 11.
A statement said that Bangladesh's only education based digital news outlet dainikshiksha.com editor Siddiqur Rahman Khan and the daily Samakal special correspondent Sabbir Newaz were elected first ever president and general secretary respectively of the association.
Other office bearers of the 17 members association are organising secretary Abhijit Bhattachariya of the daily Bangladesher Khobor, vice-presidents Mostak Ahammed of the daily Jugantor and Nejamul Haque of the daily Ittefaq and joint general secretaries Mamun Hossain of the daily Manobkantha and Abdul Hye Tuhin of the daily Sangbad Pratidin.
The new committee would work for one year, said the statement.
