A school teacher was hospitalized after suffering a beating at the hands of a headmaster of another school beat him at Sikdarkandi village in Jajira upazila on Tuesday.
The injured teacher is Khalid Hasan, teacher of Jajira Bright Star Kindergarten School, and he was beaten up by Akhter Hossain Bepari, headmaster of Dakkhin Darikandi Government Primary School of the area.
Locals sources said Khalid and Akhter, while travelling on separate motorcycles, locked into an altercation over giving way to each other, that later turned to a scuffle between them.
At one stage of their scuffle, Akhter bit Khalid’s left cheek, leaving him injured. Khalid was admitted to Jajira Upazila Health Complex.
Officer-in-Charge of Jajira Police Station Belaet Hossain said they have learned about the incident. “We will take action once any written complaint is filed,” he said.
