Two UK Professors meet DU VC

Professor Simon Walker of University of Greenwich, UK and Dr. Sam Smidt of University College London (UCL), UK called on Dhaka University (DU) Vice-Chancellor Prof. Dr. Md. Akhtaruzzaman today at the latter’s office of the university.

Director of Center of Excellence for Teaching and Learning of DU Prof Dr. Sabita Rezwana Rahman and Assistant Professor of the Department of Islamic History & Culture Dr. ATM Shamsuzzoha were present, among others. During the meeting they stressed on for developing professional skills of teachers.

They discussed the possibilities of undertaking joint collaborative academic and research programs on “Teaching and Learning” by the University of Dhaka, University of Greenwich and University College London (UCL), UK.

The VC sought cooperation from the UK professors for development of education and research at DU. The UK educationists assured the VC of providing all possible support and cooperation in this regard. They have agreed to sign a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) to promote education and research at DU.
