A Jahangirnagar University student was killed and another injured as a truck hit their motorcycle on Hatikumrul-Bonpara highway in Sirajganj on Friday (29/7/16) afternoon.

The deceased was identified as Arafat Rahman Mishu, a 4th year student of anthropology department, hailing from Natore district.

Abdul Kader Jilani, officer-in-charge of Hatikunrul highway police station, said Mishu along with his classmate Hamidur Rahman, was going to their house in Natore from Dhaka riding the motorcycle.

The truck hit their bike in the area around 3:30pm, leaving Mishu dead on the spot and Hamidur critically injured.

The injured was admitted to Sirajganj General Hospital.
