28 held over ‘question paper leak’ in Satkhira

The law enforcers claimed to have detained 28 people from Kalaroa upazila in Satkhira this morning for their alleged involvement in leaking question papers of recruitment tests.

Eighteen of them are students and eight are their guardians and two are members of a fraud gang, said Lt Mahmudur Rahman, company commander of Rab-6.

Acting on a tip-off, a joint team of Rab-6 and a team of Detective Branch of police launched a drive at Singer Bhaban in the upazila around 5:30am and arrested them from the building where they gathered in the morning, he said.

During primary interrogation, the fraud gang confessed that they amassed Tk 12 lakh from the candidates of primary assistant teacher recruitment examinations and other job seekers, he added.

Meanwhile, police arrested four students from a mess in Pabna town this morning as they were taking preparation to sit for primary teacher recruitment examinations through electronic devices.

The arrestees Sakib Uddin, Abdus Sobhan, Anwar Hossain and Sanaullah Sany were sent to jail by a court, said Goutam Kumar Bishwas, additional superintendent of Pabna police.
