Education officers asked to help implementation of anti-extremism project

Bangladesh Enterprise Institute, a private think tank run by business bodies, has taken a project to prevent extremism schooling and violent extremism at colleges and madrashas through empowering the youth.

The institute marked 15 upazilas of 10 Northern districts as initial project area and held orientation meetings in the respective upazilas.

The education ministry has also come up with its support to the move made by the private think tank as it has asked education officers and madrasha education officers in the respective upazilas and districts to help implementation of the prgramme.

On August 2, the education ministry issued two separate circulars in this regard.

The project is aimed at enhancing social capacity and sharpen the role of the youth by preventing extremism schooling and violent extremism through empowering them, according to the orders.

The ministry also asked the directorate of secondary and higher education and technical and madrasha education division to take necessary steps.
