Police recovered the beheaded body of a madrassah student from village Koyradanga of Alamdanga upazila in Chuadanga on Wednesday.
The deceased was Abir Hossain, 11, a Class II student of Nurani Hafizia Madrassah and Orphanage, and son of Ali Hossain of Kotchandpur upazila in Jhenaidah.
Police recovered Abir’s body from a mango orchard in the morning and sent it to a local hospital for post-mortem exminations, said officer-in-charge of Alamdaga police station Asaduzzmana Munshi.
Madrassah principal Mufti Abu Hanif said that the boy had been missing since Tuesday’s maghrib prayers.
Mahbubur Rahman, superintendent of police, said they were investigating into the murder.
