Three national professors honoured at BUET

Professor Jamilur Reza Choudhury, Professor Anisuzzaman and Professor Rafiqul Islam, who were appointed as national professors by Bangladesh government in 2018, were honoured at Bangladesh University of Engineering and Technology (BUET) for their outstanding contribution in the education sector. 

BUET Teachers’ Association and BUET Alumni Association jointly organised a warm reception programme on Thursday evening at BUET Central Auditorium, said a BUET press release today.

President of BUET Teachers’ Association Professor Dr AKM Masud gave the welcome speech in the programme.

Professor Dr. Shamsuzzaman Khan, Bangabandhu Chair at Islamic University, Kushtia presented the keynote on “OUR TIME: EDUCATION, CULTURE AND RECENT THOUGHTS”.

Professor Syed Azizul Haque of Department of Bangla at Dhaka University; Poet Muhammad Nurul Huda and Professor Dr. M.H. Khan, Ex Vice-Chancellor of BUET gave speech on the distinguished National Professors.

Secretary General of BUET Alumni Association Dr. Sadiqul Islam Bhuyan gave the closing speech in the programme.

The function came to an end after a delightful cultural event performed by Artist Shama Rahman.Teachers of BUET, members of BUET Alumni Association, engineers, architects and planners were present in the programme.
