4 held over SSC question paper leak

Detectives today claimed to have arrested four people for their alleged involvement with the question paper leak of this year’s Secondary School Certificate examinations.

Three among the arrestees are Mohammad Abdullah Fahim, 20, Mohammad Shamim Ahmed, 19, and Mohammad Nobin Ali, 22.

A team of Detective Branch of police arrested the four from in front of Hotel Jonaki in Fakirapool area of Dhaka yesterday, Deputy Commissioner of DB (North) Mashiur Rahman told The Daily Star.

While monitoring social media networks, Deputy Commissioner Mashiur Rahman said the officials came across information which indicated that a group of people involved with 2019 SSC question paper leak would all gather in Dhaka.

Acting on this information, the law enforcers conducted the drive and arrested the four and recovered laptop and mobile phones from their possession, the official said.

In 2018, Abdullah Fahim was arrested by Rab officials for leaking question paper but he went back to his work after he was released, the official said.

They would charge Tk 500 to Tk 30,000 for the fake question papers and would also assure people of result change, said Mashiur Rahman.
