DU receives tk 20 lakh for Jasimuddin hall trust fund

Dhaka University (DU) authorities have received tk. 20 lakh donation further to enhance the capital of Kabi Jasimuddin Hall Trust Fund of the university.

Prof. Dr. Md. Rahmat Ullah, Provost of  Kabi Jasimuddin Hall  handed over a cheque for tk. 20 lakh to DU Treasurer Prof. Dr. Md. Kamal Uddin yesterday (October 10) at the Vice-Chancellor’s office to enhance the capital.

Earlier, Provost of Kabi Jasimuddin Hall handed over another cheque for tk. 30 lakh to DU Treasurer on August 03 this year to set up this trust fund.  Now the total capital of this trust fund is tk. 50 lakh. It may be mentioned that this amount has been collected from different internal sources of the hall.

Vice-Chancellor of Dhaka University Prof. Dr. Md. Akhtaruzzaman, dean of the Faculty of Science Prof. Dr. Md. Abdul Aziz, acting registrar Md. Enamuzzaman and house tutors of Kabi Jasimuddin Hall were present on this occasion.

Out of the income of this donation, every year one meritorious student of Kabi Jasimuddin Hall will be awarded gold medal. Besides, 20 meritorious students of the hall will be given scholarship.

Vice-Chancellor Prof. Dr. Md. Akhtaruzzaman thanked the Provost of Kabi Jasimuddin Hall for donation to set up the trust fund. He hoped that the students would be highly benefited by this donation.
