Nusrat’s brother gets job in NRB Global bank

Desk Report |

Mahmudul Hassan Noman, elder brother of burnt Feni Madrassah student Nusrat Jahan Rafi, joined NRB Global Bank as a trainee officer (cash) on Monday.

He was appointed on request of prime minister Sheikh Hasina, according to a press release issued by the bank’s communication and branding division in-charge Safiqul Islam.

‘The most horrific murder of Nusrat Jahan by setting on fire at Sonagazi upazilla in Feni is considered as the most barbaric in recent times,’ the release said.

It said that Noman joined the bank’s head office in Dhaka on Monday and he was posted to the Dakbangla branch of Feni.

On April 15, 2019, Nusrat’s parents and his two brothers met the PM who comforted Nusrat’s family to support and assured them of any cooperation.

In view of this, NRB Global Bank chairman Nizam Chowdhury confirmed Noman’s employment in the bank and the prime minister handed over the appointment letter to Noman on the day.

An 18-year old examinee, Nusrat, was set on fire on April 6 as she refused to withdraw her allegation against her abuser and Sonagazi Islamia Fazil Madrassah principal Siraj-ud-Doula. She died at the burn and plastic surgery unit of Dhaka Medical College Hospital on April 10.
