District administration extends support for Sohag’s admission

Rajshahi district administration has extended financial support towards university admission of a poor but meritorious student in the district today.

Sohag Alam, son of extreme poor and day-labourer Akram Ali of Bebottor Binodpur village under Pakuria Union Parishad in Bagha Upazila of Rajshahi district, obtained GPA-5 in all public examinations from Primary to HSC. They have no any own land and live in a thatched house on other land.

Finally, he got chance for admission in Dhaka University, Rajshahi University of Engineering and Technology (RUET), Jahangirnagar University and Rajshahi University this year. But, he could not get him admitted as yet due to financial constraint.

Seeing a media report on the issue Deputy Commissioner SM Abdul Kader instructed Bagha Upazila Nirbahi Officer (UNO)Shahin Reja to extend financial support to Sohag for his admission immediately.

Getting the instruction the UNO provided requisite financial support to the student at his office this morning.

Sohag told the UNO that he wanted to admit in RUET expressing his firm commitment of becoming a competent engineer for serving the nation.
