Schoolgirl was killed when a bus knocked down her in Gopal area of Sadar upazila on Saturday morning.
Sources said Jharna Akter, 6, a class I student of a local school and daughter of Nur Ali, a CNG-run auto-rickshaw driver, was killed when a Sylhet-bound bus from Sunamganj knocked down her at Gopal in Sadar upazila in the morning.
Incensed by the incident, a mob vandalised the vehicle and put up barricade on the road in the area, disrupting traffic for an hour.
On information, police rushed in and brought the situation under control.
Akhtar Hossain, officer-in-charge of Jalalabad Police Station, said police sent the body to hospital morgue for an autopsy.
