CU to keep smeared Baishakh art as protest

CU Correspondent |

The Fine Arts Institute will keep the smeared wall art, prepared for celebration of Bangla New Year Pahela Baishakh, as a display of protest.

Alongside the defaced artwork, they are drawing up more murals a day ahead of the gala celebration, our local staff correspondent reports.

Kamrul Hassan Bappy, convener of the Pahela Baishakh Celebration Committee of Fine Arts Institute, said the decision was taken as a show of protest.

Offenders used burnt engine oil yesterday (12th April) to smear the walls that were freshly painted by the fine arts institute students in celebration of Pahela Baishakh to be observed on April 14.
