Jahangirnagar University authority introduced today (Sunday) a new bus route from its campus to Mirpur.
After a movement organized by the students, JU made the decision of launching a bus on the route.
Around 50 students of Bangladesh Chhatra Union, who have been staging demonstration siege the transport yard for two hours demanding for a bus for Mirpur route.
Later they withdrew their programme after acting in-charge of transport Emdadul Haque announced to introduce a bus for the new route.
Emdadul Haque said that the new route was introduced considering the demand of the students which would leave from the campus at 3:00pm every day.
Dipanjan Sidddantho Kajal, president of Bangladesh Chhatra Union of JU unit said, ‘We have been demanding to introduce a bus for Mirpur route since last year’
They also submitted a memorandum and application along with signature of 1,000 students over the matter.
