University_of_Chittagong_logoChittagong University (CU) is going to observe their fourth convocation on Sunday at the university’s central playground.

Around 7,194 students are expected to collect their certificates for their successful completion of studies from the university.

President and Chancellor of the university Abdul Hamid is expected to preside over the programme. The university campus has worn a festive look as the university authority has completed all preparations to hold the convocation, the biggest programme to confer degrees.

Campus sources said members of law-enforcing agencies have been deployed at different points in the campus including Katapahar, Hill Bottom Colony and Old Medical Block.

Chief of the Convocation Committee Dr M Kamrul Huda, also registrar of the university, said the university has taken brisk preparations while the members of the law-enforcing agencies have covered the programme venue as well as all hills of the campus under security blanket.

“As part of the security measures, we have hold meetings with different law enforcing agencies, Chittagong District Administration and different departments of the government”, he said adding that all important points of the university campus are being monitored with ultramodern IP cameras and the university authority has strengthened vigil over movement of outsiders in the campus.
